SEO Content
Content is the key to Search Engine Optimization, and
posting frequently is important, sharing what you post is also important, but
the MOST important thing is what you are posting. Having content seems like an
obvious, so we will not talk about that, but the quality of your content is
very important. There are some things that need to be kept in mind while
creating this content.
The first thing is spelling
and grammar it is not a requirement to have perfect spelling and grammar,
but it helps gain trust from the people who view the content. Having content
that is spelt correctly shows that real people, with brains, are doing the
posting and it makes the viewers of said content can trust the post. Gaining
trust by posting readable content lets consumers know that there are people who
care enough about the information that they wanted to share it and make it easy
for others to enjoy as well.
Let’s talk about pop-ups.
We all hate them, but we feel like businesses must love them. People know people
hate pop-ups, but they can sometimes ad value to what you are posting. There is
a time and place for a pop-up. When do I think it’s an OK time to use pop-ups?
I think if you are offering me a discount on my purchase, go ahead and pop it
up let me know. When I am online shopping at a store I regularly make online
purchases for, but I get pop-ups offering me a discount if I subscribe for my first-time
purchase, then it’s just annoying. I also do not like when the second I open
the link to a blog, or news (that
term used lightly) website and before I can even read the article they are
asking me if I want to subscribe. I don’t even know if I will understand the
language you wrote this in. I do subscribe to some blogs, but I want to make
that decision for myself, I do not want to feel forced to subscribe, but I can
be convinced with some incentive.
This pop-up is an example of a nightmare, not only does it
have to be the first-time purchase, but also a $50 purchase. Double-whammy. The less people who benefit form subscribing, the more annoying the pop-up is.
A general rule-of-thumb is no pop-ups. Do not annoy the
people, let them browse but have a place for people to subscribe if they do.
The next thing that should be touched on is originality. This comes on two levels,
being different from others and being different from yourself. The first thing
is try to think outside the box and be creative. It is OK to look at others and
see what they are doing, but it is not OK to plagiarize. It is also important
to have one quality article about a specific topic, than to have many articles
with portions of the information.
The idea is to remember quality always comes before
quantity.
