MKTG 347 and MKTG 345 AI reflection post week 2

I find myself in complete disbelief that someone who's in their last semester of college might have a hard time finding a job with the degree they just paid for. As artificial intelligence is taking over so many jobs it makes me question whether or not I have been making the right decisions for my education, and whether or not I have picked the best major.

One thing that stood out to me was the mention that, by 2032 half of the trucks on the road will not have human drivers. There are a lot of truck drivers and hearing that they will lose their jobs is scary, because what else will artificial intelligence replace?

If people are going to lose their jobs, then how will we even have a sustainable economy? A world where people do not have jobs or the means to live is not a world I want to be a part of. I think it is really cool how much technology is out there, but there are a lot of people and the main focus of major companies should not be getting rid of their workers.

The idea of AI is awesome, but replacing people with robots is not awesome. If companies can take the people they are replacing and re-train them to help them grow and in the end also benefit their companies as well. I think that AI is scary when you think of it as a means to eliminate people from the work place, but if companies view it as a way to grow and help their current employees gain new skills, then it does not have to be a scary thing.

America has a reputation of being the land where dreams can come true, the American Dream, is something everyone has heard, so why would we want to take that away.
